Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Tamem mobile application and website (collectively, the "Service") operated by Tamem ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Tamem. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Account

• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
• Upload harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content during AI interactions
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use automated tools to access the Service (bots, scrapers, etc.)
• Circumvent subscription restrictions or abuse free-tier limits

4. Subscriptions and Payments

4.1 Plans

Tamem offers free and paid subscription plans. Paid plans unlock additional features, higher usage limits, and an ad-free experience.

4.2 Billing

• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
• Prices may change with reasonable notice; existing subscriptions are honoured until renewal

4.3 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by the respective app store (Apple or Google) according to their refund policies. We do not process refunds directly.

5. AI-Generated Content

• AI feedback is provided "as is" for educational purposes only
• CEFR level assessments are estimates and do not constitute official certification
• We continuously improve AI accuracy but cannot guarantee error-free responses
• Your interactions with AI features may be used to improve the Service (in anonymized form)

6. Intellectual Property

• The Tamem app, website, brand, and all original content are our intellectual property
• You retain ownership of any text or content you submit during practice sessions
• You grant us a limited license to process your submitted content for the purpose of providing AI feedback

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

8. Disclaimers

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind
• We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation
• We are not responsible for third-party service outages (AI providers, payment processors)

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tamem shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.

10. Account Termination

• You may delete your account at any time (see Account Deletion)
• We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms
• Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately
• Data deletion follows the timeline described in our Privacy Policy

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or by email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable in your jurisdiction, without regard to conflict of law principles.
